Winter style guide #1

The mornings are darker than my coffee these days and the frosty surroundings only confirm one thing… Winter is officially here. Luckily that means more layers, earthy colours and hats galore.

At Young Britannia this week, we've put together a step by step guide on how to dress for Winter. This week we're focusing on our extremely cosy Queen's Head Sweatshirt. The perfect item for staying warm, comfortable and stylish during the colder months.

1. Winter is all about layering. The more layers, the better. Why not pop a long t-shirt or shirt under your sweatshirts for extra warmth and to add a little extra something to an outfit? If it's still a bit nippy, add in a jacket and scarf and you'll definitely be good to go.

2. Winter colours are my favourite thing about Winter fashion. I love forest green and wine red during Winter but you can also never go wrong with black.

3. Footwear during Winter can make or break you. Nobody wants cold and soggy feet so we recommend a comfy pair of boots that will also see you through numerous late night Christmas shopping trips.

4. A huge positive about Winter fashion is normally its 10x more comfy than any other season. The high street is full of joggers and oversized tees.. you'd be a fool not to take advantage!

5. Grey is everywhere this season, mixed with colours or keeping it monochrome.. it's a winner every time.

6. Mixing textures is a great way to add something extra to an outfit. Knitted jumpers under leather jackets is just a prime example of how well this works.

..And of course, not forgetting the men. Our sweatshirts are unisex and look great on both ladies and lads!

7. Jeans are always a Winter staple. They match everything and most shoes look great with them.

8. Parker coats are easily a highlight of Winter… they look great over most outfits and have to be the closest equivalent to wrapping your duvet around you and wearing that out.

Stay tuned for part 2 of our Winter style guide. If there is anything you would like us to style up for you, let us know by tweeting us @YoungBritannia!

Have a good evening!

Hat season

There's something about a cold evening, when the sun sets before it even reaches 5pm and the mornings are filled with frost. At Young Britannia, we love being able to add accessories to an outfit that are not only weather practical but also on trend. Beanies are timeless! Especially in a classic colour like black, which is always undoubtably on trend every year.
Here's a snap of our intern (who's also a fashion blogger) wearing our lion head bobble hat with a red tartan jacket. We want to know how you're styling your YB hats? Tweet or Instagram (@YoungBritannia) us using the hashtag #YoungBritStyle and we may just feature our favourites on this blog space right here!

*Black lion head beanie available for £14.99 on Young Britannia.
